Be A Hospice Volunteer

What is Hospice?

Hospice is a philosophy of care for persons who are terminally ill. A team of professionals and volunteers is available to assist the patient and the family in placing an emphasis on living until the last moment of life.

Volunteers play a very important role in Hospice. Without them most hospices would not be able to carry on their work. Volunteers provide many support services. Examples of volunteer services are, support, companionship, listening, errands, backrubs, friendship, letter writing, reading and care.

Not all volunteers provide support in the home. Many volunteers provide help in the office, with fundraising efforts, sewing gowns for patients and other types of assistance.
Consider becoming a Hospice Volunteer.
